Notary offices in the 17 OHADA member states share harmonised business law and a civil-law tradition. They also share very practical difficulties: scattered documents, deadlines to watch, teams to coordinate, client funds to trace. What software can meet these needs without ignoring what remains specific to each country?
The 17 OHADA member states
- West Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo.
- Central Africa: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon.
- Indian Ocean: Comoros.
What is shared,
what is national
Commercial company law and secured transactions are harmonised by the OHADA Uniform Acts. Land, family law, inheritance, tax and the organisation of the notarial profession, however, fall under each state’s own law. Useful notary software in the OHADA area must therefore rest on a common foundation and adapt to each office’s texts, templates and practices.
- Company deeds: incorporations, amendments to articles, share transfers, under the uniform law.
- Real estate and land: sales, leases, mortgages and formalities, following national procedures.
- Family and inheritance: marriage contracts, gifts, estates, with the office’s own templates.
- Client funds: office funds and client funds kept separate, receipts and repayments traced.
What LL REMAKE LEGAL OS provides
LL REMAKE LEGAL OS · Notary Edition brings the office’s files, deeds, documents, calendar, formalities, team and accounting into one environment, on computer, tablet and phone. The office’s Word deed templates are imported during set-up. Search runs across the corpus loaded by the office, with the source cited. Five AI agents, activated at the start of the pilot, prepare and flag; the notary validates.
What we do not promise
LL REMAKE LEGAL OS does not provide a national legal database and replaces neither the notary’s checks nor their responsibility. The interface is in French; other languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese) can be considered on request. Prices are offered in FCFA (UEMOA and CEMAC); other currencies on request.
And outside the OHADA area?
Notary offices in the Indian Ocean (Mauritius, Madagascar), the Maghreb and the French-speaking world beyond Africa (France, Belgium, Luxembourg, French-speaking Switzerland, Quebec) are welcome to present their project: we review every request.
